The smell of politics

Emery Raoul Loba Dagaud
From the first President of Côte d'Ivoire, the late Félix Houphouët-Boigny, to His Excellency Mr. Alassane Ouattara, there has never been any political game in Côte d'Ivoire, if one is to believe the abundant literature on Ivorian political crises. Everything seems to have been a succession of frustrations, vexations, contempt, malice, hatred, lies, villainy, war and now similar latent tensions. From the false conspiracies of Houphouët-Boigny in the 60s and 70s, to the advent of the new multiparty system in 1988 in Côte d'Ivoire, to the period of political effervescence from the 90s to the present, the smell of Ivorian politics is not pleasant. Houphouët-Boigny, through a political "pact", offered all of Côte d'Ivoire to France. The reasons? We must highlight them in this book, to grasp the true meaning of political struggles in Côte d'Ivoire and finally locate the right fight to be waged for the Ivorian people.
