This book aims to ascertain the preference of mutual fund investors, in respect of various investment avenues, to establish the influence of risk perception of investors on investment decisions in Madurai District, to examine the influence of characteristics of mutual funds on investment decisions, to study the influence of investment-specific perception of investors on investment decisions, to analyze the relationship between attributes of fund management and investment decisions and to develop a statistical model with risk perception of investors, investment-specific perception of investors, characteristics of mutual funds, attributes of fund management and mutual fund investment decisions. The book concludes that there is a professional requirement for the mutual fund companies in India, to have a detailed understanding of the most influencing factors and it should be given the main priority at the time of mutual fund product design and in the development of diversified schemes in mutual fund investments. Thus the growth of the mutual fund industry in inclusive areas will help to enhance the balanced investment patterns, in the socio-economic environment of a nation.
