DEPERSONALIZATION OF THE CAREGIVER AND ABUSE OF THE PATIENT IN THE GABO

Georges Emery NDONG ETOUGOU
From Sounda (2008) to Ebang Ondo (2010), it is well known that patients and their relatives are victims of abuse and contempt within the hospital structures of Gabon. The media continues to denounce this malicious situation that plunges the population into a real distress difficult to overcome (Allafrica, 2019), especially since the health sector represents above all, the most prestigious sector in any ambitious country.According to Fradet (2017), depersonalization leads the caregiver to be cynical towards the patient. This research therefore aimed to examine the presence of depersonalization among Gabonese caregivers, who are infamous for their contempt for the patient (De Sounda, 2008). Based on a questionnaire sent to 109 Gabonese caregivers, the results show that depersonalization does not exist among Gabonese caregivers.
