New face of Islam in Tunisia and France

Amel Ben Zakour
This work is an outline of two articles that highlight the new face of Islam in Tunisia and France. In recent years, a new way of wearing the veil has emerged. These "new veils" take on other functions such as the desire for massive access of women to public space or political protest in a broad sense, encompassing the category of "gender". The question of the "new veils" privileges the interconnections between femininities and masculinities on the one hand, and the local and the global on the other. The aim is to achieve an understanding of the channels of expression of identities and women while thinking about Islam. The "halal" is at the center of all discussions and current controversies in France. However, by "halal", one expresses on the one hand the meat slaughtered under the norms of the "sharia'" and on the other hand as the "allowed" in the religious practice of the everyday. The question studied concerns Tunisia and France, where Islam is not conveyed in the same way.
