The bridge was designated as a Michigan Historic Site and added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 2001. The 254 foot 10 inch long bridge was built in 1896 by Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway's Jackson Branch and carries a single track over the River Raisin.
