New Microstructures in Olefin-Based Polymers
Tailoring the microstructures of olefin-based polymers enables the synthesis of materials with unique properties. Within this thesis, effects of the substitution pattern of C1- and C2-symmetric metallocene catalysts on the polymerization of propene and the properties of the resulting polymers were investigated. Furthermore, 3,3,3-trifluoropropene was tested as a comonomer in early and late transition metal catalysis. As a side project, the use of poly(vinylphosphonate)s as flame retardants for polycarbonates was evaluated.
