This book is the result of a research that seeks to understand the meaning effects of the recourse to the grotesque as an expressive form in the work of filmmakers Federico Fellini and Pedro Almodóvar. To this end, we comparatively analyze two films: 8½ (FELLINI, 1963) and Tudo Sobre Minha Mãe (ALMODÓVAR, 1999), in order to establish dialogical relationships between the analyzed works and the other productions of the directors based on their representations of stigmatized bodies.
