The oil industry is a source of employment and economic development in Niger. 5,000 direct and indirect jobs will be generated by the Niger-Benin pipeline construction project (source: Ministry of Petroleum); about 98% of young petroleum graduates are unemployed, so oil companies and state institutions express a need for competent human resources, as a significant cost is allocated to training in the petroleum sector.Creation of a National Institute of Petroleum within the framework of the Niger-Algeria Partnership under the supervision of the Ministry of Petroleum by the Government of Niger. Financing: The total cost of the project is CFAF 21,758385,370 which is estimated to be profitable within 18 years according to the feasibility study of the preliminary project. Of which: 60% is from the State of Niger and 40% from partners (Algerian State (target: Sonatrach) or others)Steps taken: University of Zinder - BINGAZOIL_energy -Ministere du Pétrole - Sonatrach partnership
