Study of the properties of hybrid rubber coatings

Michael Trushkov
The work was aimed at testing samples of hybrid rubber coatings based on ash-and-slag waste (ASW) and crumb rubber for physical and mechanical properties. Samples for the tests were made by introducing ash-and-slag waste in different proportions into the mixture of crumb rubber and polyurethane adhesive. The basic composition included 87.1 % of rubber crumb and 12.9 % of polyurethane glue. The compositions for hybrid tile samples with inclusion of ash-and-slag waste were obtained by replacing the polyurethane binder with ash-and-slag waste. In each subsequent sample the amount of ASW was increased by 5% of the total mixture weight, and the amount of binder was reduced by 3-5%. Modifying the composition by the introduction of ash-and-slag materials improves the indicators of the breaking load and the maximum compressive load. It was found that the increase in ash-and-slag materials content increases the density of the products and reduces water absorption. Frayability of products using ash-and-slag mixtures increases insignificantly with the increase of their quantity in the composition.
