Recent changes in the agricultural, animal production and feeding practices have led to increase in incidence of impaction syndrome in dairy animals, especially in the developing countries. The data regarding diagnosis and differentiating different causes of the impaction disorders in bovine is limited. The problem is compounded by lack of suitable epidemiological data on the etiology of the disease.
