SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS OF PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCE USE (SPA)

Andrés Reinosa
Addressing the phenomenon of Psychoactive Substance Use (PAS) is a somewhat complex path, since myths and associations emerge around this issue that make it difficult for society to interpret this phenomenon from different factors. "Those who smoke marijuana steal to get it", "He may not steal now, but when he is hooked, he will start stealing", "The poor are the ones who use drugs the most" are some of the expressions that could be heard to refer to the consumer, it should be clarified that these are the product of popular slang, but are not extracted from an investigation; For this reason, the theory of social representations is taken as a base theory that seeks to understand the viewpoint of the different actors in the issue of PAS consumption, that is, who consumes, who frequent the consumption spaces, who legislate and who exercise order and control in areas such as the Olaya Herrera Park in the city of Pereira.
