JOSEPH KABILA

Herménelgide-Aimé Kipuni Yebe
The Democratic Republic of Congo, like most African countries, is struggling to establish itself as a true sovereign state due to the lack of good political leadership. Several African leaders have distanced themselves from the nationalist ideals that led to independence. However, nationalism has already proved its worth both in the conquest of freedom and in the process of development of nations. Joseph Kabila is presented in this book as an image of nationalism not only independentist like N'krouma, Lumumba etc., but also that of national self-determination, of national sovereignty, with regard to imperialist inferences, like M'zée Kabila, Mouammar El Kadhafi etc. It is demonstrated that thanks to his great sense of nationalism, he has carved a line of conduct that deserves to be observed and preserved: the sovereignty, dignity and respect of the DRC as an independent state. He directed his nationalist vision towards the reaffirmation loud and clear of independence, sovereignty and the will to live as a nation. Thanks to his integrist and federative leadership, he thwarted the plan to balkanize the country.
